Perthshire Paperweight 1999 PP207 Unique Millefiori Pattern Paperweight Limited Edition. It is referred to as PP207 and is approximately 2 and 1/2 inches in diameter. It is a unique millefiori pattern that Perthshire introduced in this mid year limited edition. What makes the design different is the striate effect of the central diamond complex canes resting on a bed of parallel latticinio strips cut in a diamond background form. There is a lovely outer ring of canes that have an appealing floral garland surround. The colors in the cane design are wonderful and contrast beautifully with the lovely emerald green base. It is not clear how many PP227s were actually made, but since this was a mid year release most probably the edition is quite small. For your consideration is a fascinating , vintage, hand blown, ORIENT AND FLUME paperweight. The background is an iridescent pale gold. In some lights it has a pale blue cast. A black spider appears near the top. It is heading for a white flower that has orange and gold spots. Golden pulled feather designs that simulate webbing appear on the sides. There is also a swath of green leaves and a stem that is coming from the flower and extends to the base. The piece is signed Orient and Flume, I 269 0,1978. It is 3 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches high. The paperweight is in great condition without chips or cracks. There are a few scratches on the base which is typical due to the age of the piece.
