This lovely multi-layerd pulled feather paperweight is in very good gently used condition with no observable chips, cracks, breaks or repairs, just the normal scuffs on bottom. The paperweight is 2 5/8″ tall and 2 7/8″ at the widest point and weighs 1# 3 oz. The paperweight is signed Orient & Flume 40 A 1978 included O&F box. Colors are blue/green with pulled feather work. For your consideration is a fabulous, Josh Simpson, art glass paperweight. It measures 3 inches in diameter and stands just a little over 2 3/4 inches tall. There is one large tethered cane satellite that is close to the top (see photo #4) and also a smaller cane satellite that is orbiting the planet above it (see photo #6). Multi colored patches and shapes appear on the surface. Some look like anemones and landforms. Isolated bubbles add to the drama of this piece. Traces of sparkling iridescence can also be seen. This paperweight is from Simpson’s “inhabited planet” series. It is a very fascinating creation and fun to study. The piece is in good condition without cracks, scratches or chips. The flat bottom reads: Simpson, 1991 and the number 11.80. Its a beautiful planet and would be a wonderful addition to your signed art glass collection. 3 small acrylic feet have been applied to the bottom to retard scratching.
