Gary Scrutton was the creator of Parabelle glass and soon became recognized as one of the finest makers of Millefiori paperweights in the world. His goal was to achieve the same or better quality than the antique glass makers from the famous French houses. The paperweight is striking in person! My photographs do not do it justice. There are three concentric circles of canes with a large Pansy Cane in the Center. The primary colors are a deep blue and white. There is a PB signature cane on the outside row reading PB 1991. This was prior to Gary signing most of the paperweights. I have seen the Parabelle sticker on the reverse removed but I would leave it on if I were keeping this weight. ANTIQUE FRENCH CLICHY ROSE GARLAND PAPERWEIGHT 1845-55. Height 4,5cm, Daimeter 6.5cm. French, Clichy with signature rose cane. Dates between 1845 and 1855. Please see item description. From a diverse and interesting private paperweight collection we are offering this rare French Clichy rose garland paperweight dating from between 1845 and 1855. Encased within clear glass the paper weight has a central Clichy rose cane with and arrangement of millefiori canes arranged to form a rose like design around the centre with a further band of millefiori canes around the outer edge. The domed paperweight has a polished concave base and is not marked. Condition The paperweight is offered in good presentable condition with a surface bruise to one side and with a few smaller more minor bruises lower down. There are a few other small and minor surface marks although these do not detract with some wear commensurate with age to the base. With usual wear to the foot rim this is a rare and fine paperweight to add to any serious collection. We cannot and will not declare items below the sale value. This fantastic set of lamps is in working order and good preowned condition overall. The smaller hall lamp has dust that has baked into the glass and I was not able to remove giving the top portion an uneven matte finish as seen in picture 5. The largest section of each lamp has minor chipping on the bottom as seen in picture 9. One of the table lamps has a very small chip on the base shown in picture 12. One of the finials looks like it was broken and glued back together as shown in picture 10. The lamps have some dirt and scratches on the underside of the base as you can see in picture 11. The shades have dust dirt and wear from use. The light bulbs are not included and only used to show that the lamps are working. The cords have dirt and wear from use but I could not find any issues that would necessitate replacement. It looks like one of the table lamps may have had the socket replaced. The table lamps measure 35.5″ tall and the hall lamp measures 11″ tall. This listing is for the items pictured and does not include anything additional not shown in the pictures.
