Vintage Orient & Flume Paperweight Description and Item Information Up for sale is this beautiful Orient and Flume studio art glass paperweight. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This iridescent paperweight has three flowers, and pulled feather patterns. The colors are mostly pale tones. This piece measures approximately 2 1/2 inches tall, with a maximum width of about 2 7/8 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 2.6 ounces. The flat base is ground and polished. This would be a great addition to a collection of American studio art glass. Identification This circa 1978 paperweight has engraved markings beneath, as shown. It has its original, worn Orient & Flume label beneath. The glass was made in Chico, California. Condition This paperweight looks very good overall, with no cracks or chips. It has light wear, with some fine scratches beneath. The label has wear, as shown. Color and iridescence variations are as made. Terms of Sale 1. For sale is a limited edition paperweight, designed & manufactured by William Manson at Caithness. It measures a little under 3″(7.5cms) in diameter & 2 3/8″(6cms) tall. The design features a red coloured yellow spotted crab on an incredibly detailed sea bed complete with shells and a sea green coloured shadow. There is the signature “WM” cane set into the sea bedsee pic. The base is etched, “Seascape Caithness Scotland” & numbered, “19/50″ see pics. This is a lovely paperweight from American Master paperweight artist KEN ROSENFELD. He is renowned for his lampwork pieces which capture the essence of his naturalistic subjects – usually flowers and berries. This is a 1994 weight from Ken, featuring 3 stylised yellow flowers and three stems of multiple purple/mauve flowers and. The plants green stems and leaves all on a clear background. The lampwork is excellent, and Ken has turned this weight into something a little different by twisting the stems and bending the bouquet over to represent a swirling motion. This really provides life and movement to the usual static bouquet. A lot of work and thought has gone into this creation. This is a large paperweight. Measuring 87mm, or just under 3 & 1/2ins diameter. Unique, one of a kind, and marked on the side with Kens R cane, scratch signed and dated 1994. Its condition is excellent. Apologies for any reflections on the photos from camera, flash or room lighting. Light patches on a clear weight may just be my label on the underside.
