A Center Red/Green Rose cane is encircled by a spaced ring of six complex canes including a Red/White Rose cane. An outer ring of twelve canes completes the design. The paperweight is 2-1/8″ in diameter and has a nice high dome at 1-5/8″ high. The weight has been polished and the upper surface is near perfect. There is a small shallow bruise on the lower side just above the bottom edge. There are some tiny nicks and wear to the base rim confirming the age. Over all condition is excellent. My name is Ted Trower and I’ve been a paperweight collector for over 40 years. For the past 10 years or so I’ve been working on lampworking and paperweight weight production techniques. I’ve finally reached the point where I’m ready to offer some of my better pieces for sale to the public. This weight is made of 100% 96 COE glasses, both the colors and the Czech Optical Crystal used for encasement. It has been very well and carefully annealed. This weight, “PP147″ features rings of ribbon canes joined & centred around complex millefiori canes, the very centre of which features an “arrow” logo. The outer ring features alternating trios of yellow & orange complex canes. To the concave base is the original paper labelsee pic. 8, the inset “P1992″ date canesee pic. 9 and an etched number, “98”see pic. The paperweight measures a little under 3 1/4″(a little over 8cms) in diameter & a little under 2 1/4 “(5.5cms) tall. It is from a limited edition of 300, this being number 98. The weight is in great condition, with nothing more than the odd light surface scratch/standing wear to the base and comes with it’s original presentation box & certificatesee pics.
