Rare Antique Boston & Sandwich (B&S) Glass Company Weedflower Paperweight – Unusual Configuration. This is an antique red, white, and blue Boston & Sandwich Weedflower with millefiori center, three leaves, and a stem. Normally a B&S Weedflower will have two matching upper petals and three matching lower petals, but this one has two of the lower petals in white with red and blue stripes and the other lower petal is red with blue stripes. There is a great red, white, and blue complex millefiori cane in the center of the flower. The green leaves are well formed. This is a rare and unusual configuration with great color. A wonderful addition to any collection of antique paperweights. Note : The flower is a tiny bit off center. There is a slight dimple on the top, an imperfect circle on the base, and light scratches on the body. Please review the pictures. It is possible that the paperweight has been partially restored to remove a chip on the base. Please Note: The stand shown in the pictures is not included with the paperweight. The base is ground concave with an imperfect circle – possibly a chip was removed. Condition : Very good condition for its age. This paperweight has light scratches but no chips or cracks on the surface. There is one tiny chip on the edge of the base and it may have been polished in the past to remove another chip on the base. A Center Red/Green Rose cane is encircled by a spaced ring of six complex canes including a Red/White Rose cane. An outer ring of twelve canes completes the design. The paperweight is 2-1/8″ in diameter and has a nice high dome at 1-5/8″ high. The weight has been polished and the upper surface is near perfect. There is a small shallow bruise on the lower side just above the bottom edge. There are some tiny nicks and wear to the base rim confirming the age. Over all condition is excellent. Drew Ebelhare Compound Millefiori Floral paperweight signed “Ebelhare 5-06″ in script on the edge of the base. The weight is in perfect condition with no nicks, chips or scratches. It measures 1/78″ in height by 2-3/4 ” in diameter. It is a compound design which means the design is seen at different levels inside of the paperweight. The white flowers are seen in the top of the weight while the purple flowers are seen in the lower part of the weight making for a very attractive design. This is also much more difficult for the artist to execute. I bought this paperweight directly from Drew Ebelhare when he was here locally visiting and have enjoyed it very much. It is time for me to let it go and give someone else the pleasure of owning this beautiful paperweight. A hard to find paperweight by Peter McDougall that has a delicate butterfly with 4 millefiori cane wings, that is surround by a garland of pink and turquoise canes, and rests on a clear ground. A “PMCD” signature cane is seen on the underside of this paperweight (last photo) and an etched date (2008) is also there but is hard to photograph. Condition is mint and the diameter is 2 1/8. St Saint Louis Statue of Liberty Sulphide on Cobalt Ground. It is of a beautiful Statue of Liberty Sulphide on a cobalt blue ground. The sulphide is extremely delicate, and is a gorgeous portrait of our Lady Liberty. There is a circular garland of red and blue canes surrounding the sulphide. This unique paperweight was to commemorate France’s gift to us of our precious Statue of Liberty located in the New York Harbor where immigrants arrived from all over the world. The statue was their first welcoming sight to our country. There are six side facets and one top facet which provide perfect magnification. This paperweight is in excellent condition. It comes with its gold label still adhering to its side and its Certificate of Authenticity as well. It has its St Louis signature cane for 1986 tucked into the surrounding millefiori cane circle.
