This is a beautiful St Louis Crystal Blue Flower Trellis in latticinio basket paperweight. An arrangement of three blue clematis/flowers and green leaves, resting on a double-swirl white latticinio basket. Signature and date cane. Limited edition #8 of 150. It is in excellent condition. There are few small rub marks on the bottom, which are hard to see in the pictures. I will assume they are from when my grandma displayed the paperweight. These do not distract from the overall beauty of this paperweight. It measures 3″ across and 2″ high. It comes with the original box and certificate of authenticity. Mid 19thC French art glass paperweight, fairly confident it’s by St. Louis, they were known to use clusters of millifiore canes as flowers on leaves. On a double spiral bed. Polished pontil, good base wear ring. Surface has a couple issues, small chip on right side, and a small cluster of bruises on top right side, all pictured, think the close ups make them look worse than they really are. Paperweight has 2 concentric rings of complex canes in a variety of colors and designs, which encircle a central green/chartreuse and rest on a white carpet ground. Signature and date cane. There are few rub marks and one small scratch on the bottom (see pic – I circled the scratch; the rub marks are not photographing but are by the small scratch). Rare, antique, 19th c. Undetermined factory “starfish” type millefiori concentric magnum. This three-rows concentric millefiori with central cane paperweight belongs to the group described in PCA Bulletin 2016 on pp. Though the factory is not determined yet, it’s believed to be European paperweight made in France or Belgium, in the second half of the. Magnum size makes this piece one of the biggest known from this group of paperweights. Base is polished flat with good signs of wear as expected to its age. Large Peter McDougall millefiori on muslin chequer paperweight : 78 mm / 3 1/16 inch diameter. Rare 4 strand version; signed, label. Description: Superb, rare millefiori on muslin paperweight by the Scottish craftsman Peter McDougall. The detailed compound millefiori canes are set between four coloured strands in a chequer pattern, all on an’upset muslin’ cushion. Most of his chequers have 2 or 3 strands – this is quite unusual (maybe a one-off) in having four strands (blue / turquoise/ gold aventurine / magenta).
