John Deacons magnum piedouche paperweight: 84 mm / 3 5/16 inch tall. Description: Superb, technically complex magnum sized paperweight made by the Scottish craftsman John Deacons around 2010. A lampwork flower, stem and leaves sits on a cushion of tumbled latticino within a blue on white double overlay; the latter has complex cutting and facetting. Signed near the flower stem with a JD cane. There is then a mid section with coloured latticino staves, and finally a clear octagonal foot. Concave polished base with label. Size : diameter 3 3/8 inch / 86 mm; height 3 5/16 inch / 84 mm. C ondition : very good; no chips, bruises, or scratches. This is an uncommon rose made by Kerry Zimmerman, It has 6 facets or windows and a hand cut design. It has a crackle pink rose with green leaves. This is the only one like it , Kerry only made me this one and it’s the only one I ever did this way! The weight is stamped with Kerry’s KZ stamp and hand signed Jer… The weight measures 3 1/16 wide, 3 1/2 tall weighing 1 pound 9.4 ounces. I tried to give this a winter look… A frosted look, even the facets. I think this was done in 2003 or 2004. A realistic detailed image of a pistol (revolver) rests on a translucent fused chip ground in this old/antique paperweight. The weight is 3-1/8″ in diameter and 2-3/16″ high. The bottom is slightly concave with a rough ground pontil mark. The bottom shows considerable wear indicating that this paperweight is quite oldprobably antique. It is not signed and positive attribution is not possible; however other designs of a sulphide object on a similar ground have been attributed to Belgium, late 1800s.
