The paperweight offered in this sale measures roughly 2 1/8″ tall x 2 7/8″ in diameter. The condition is very good. There is one tiny ding or bruise on the edge of the base which you can see illustrated in the 7th image, otherwise, I do not find any flaws. I suspect collectors and dealers who specialize in paperweights will recognize the maker and approximate date of manufacture of this piece based on the canes. Antique CLICHY Entwined Trefoil Garlands on Dark Blue
Provenance: The Beverly Schindler Collection. This paperweight appears to be in RARE ORIGINAL CONDITION as the making line is still visible around the perimeter. Two Entwined Trefoil Garlands (three lobes each) of millefiori canes, one with canes of. White with Red centers and one with pale Blue canes with Red and Green centers, twist around a large center Pink and White pastry mold cane. The Millefiori rests on an opaque dark Blue ground. The center cane is slightly tipped. The weight is 2-1/2″ in diameter and 1-5/8″ high. There is a tiny bit of wear on the lower side and some light wear including a small nick to the base rim.
