St Louis 1974 millefiori French glass art paperweight newel post. This beautiful large very heavy newel post is of a large glass ball containing a carpet of close packed complex millefiori canes drawn down at the base and to a brass fixing rose also contains the initial date cane. 3 ½ – 6 1/2. This information is from the original Collectors Catalogue. I’m not sure how useful it is but I’ve taken a video to try to get across how beautiful this new post is. Largely, we believe, they are Scottish, French and American and their values seem to vary hugely. So many are stunning! We are total paperweight amateurs (although learning more every day), so have copied, largely verbatim, the original Collector’s notes including his measurements. The Collector was knowledgeable and fastidious with his weights. All were stored in locked glass-fronted oak display cabinets, most have their original boxes, are catalogued impeccably and for many we have original invoices as well. We believe the weights we post are in excellent condition. He marked in his notes when this wasn? T the case and we have reproduced those comments on the description. Offered for sale is this beautiful antique paperweight believed to be French, most likely Baccarat. It features spaced millefiori rings and has cut ridges near the bottom of the dome. The bottom is polished with a slightly less than a 1/4 inch basal ring. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The piece is approximately 2.75 inches diameter and 1.75 inches high. CONDITION: The dome has some light scratches and a single short heavier scratch. There is one small impact type bruise on the side and abrasions and roughness to some of the cut edges. Baccarat Sea Horse paperweight. This design was only produced in 1975 with a limited production totaling 260. This paperweight is marked on the bottom with the Baccarat acid etch and “117/260 1975″. In excellent condition — no chips or cracks. There is a scratch on the bottom sitting surface (see photos). Measures 2″ tall and 3″ in diameter. Accordingly, unless otherwise stated in the description, they most always will show some signs of use. I do my best to photograph and describe condition as accurately as possible. Vintage Murano glass aquarium paperweight, signed by the original artist. The detail of this artisans work is amazing! I cant make out the artists name unfortunately. The base is included but not original to the piece. The piece is titled By the Seashore. Measures approximately 8 x 1 x 6.5 inches high. Small chip on near bottom. Not sure if that is original to the piece.
