Lundberg Studios Daniel Salazar Red Crested Flying White Crane Paperweight 1995. He is well known for his gorgeous floral paperweights and his exceptionally stunning flying cranes. This is an excellent example of his red crested white crane and it is Daniel Salazar at his best. The individual feathers of each wing are magnificent as my photos try to show. For your consideration is a striking, iridescent, Smyers art glass paperweight. It measures 2 7/8 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall. A bright yellow, eclipsed, crescent moon is on the top. Little white and pale blue stars appear in the shiny iridescent deep blue sky. The sides have streaks of aqua blue. In some lights the paperweight has iridescent hues and you can see slight traces of magenta, teal and gold. It is in good condition without, cracks or chips. There are some slight scratches on the base where it rests. The bottom reads: Smyers 78. It is an amazing piece and would be a wonderful addition to your signed, paperweight collection. Extremely Rare, Vintage limited edition art glass paperweight, handcrafted in 1980 at “J” Glass of Crieff, Scotland. The clear glass weight has one top and six side facets, producing wonderful optic effects when viewed from different angles. The design features a central rose in dark pink and white with a single bud on a green stem surrounded by nine green leaves. The lampwork blossom is encircled by a colorful millefiori garland in alternating canes of green/white and pink/ with two signature canes, one “J”/cane and 1980 date cane and an “A”/cane for Alan Scott who work with John Deacons creating lampwork designs at J glass. The weight measures 1.65 in. H x 2.70 in. And is in Excellent condition! With no chips, cracks or scratches! An absolutely beautiful piece of glass! ” Glass artist John Deacons founded “J Glass in Crieff, Scotland in 1979. The company produced a variety of high-quality paperweights in limited editions (no more than 101 of any design) until the company ceased operations in 1983. Alan Scott started his paperweight career as a lampworker apprentice with Perthshire Paperweights in 1975. When John Deacons left Perthshire in 1978 to set up J Glass, Allan Scott and Harry McKay followed John to J Glass. They stayed at J Glass until it closed in March 1983. After that, Allan Scott joined Caithness Glass, where he stayed until 2007. Allan Scott is considered to be one of the most important European lampwork artists working in the paperweight genre. His work rarely appears under his own name and only for Scottish Glass Society exhibitions and invariably full credit is given to his collaborators on these weights John Deacons was part of a small team that in 1968 formed Perthshire Paperweights under Stuart Drysdale.
