On offer here is an excellent 19th Century millefiori paperweight possibly from a Belgian glassworks. A 3-ring concentric pattern around a complex stardust cane: pink cruciform canes encircle unusual honeycombs each made of 9 hollow squares, white cruciform canes encircle blue/white rods and pink-sheathed corrugated canes form the outer row. This piece probably began life as a mantle ornament See the front cover of George Kulles book Identifying Antique Paperweights; The Less Familiar for a very similar example. Polished, slightly convex base with a central concavity Top condition: no cracks, chips, bruises or fleabites Measurements: D: 74mm (2 7/8″); H: 44mm (1 3/4″). The articles I sell are mostly antique or pre-owned. I endeavour to be as accurate as possible in my Condition descriptions, however antique or vintage items will show some signs of age – there may be minor imperfections (bubbles for instance or minor scratches on the base) which are not specifically mentioned in the description.
