Touchstone Glass Richardson Schooling Fish Ocean Floor Lampwork Art Paperweight
This made in Minnesota at Touchstone Glass by C. Richardson (best guess is Cathy as it is nautical in theme rather than Carl), “Schooling Fish”, round, 2 1/4″ W d 2″ H paperweight features a school of blue and white fish with long tails and bright eyes close to the ocean floor. It is signed on the bottom C. FYI: Touchstone Glass is family-owned Cathy and Steve Richardson. Cathy Richardson is a noted glass artist, and her paperweights and marbles are prized by art glass collectors. Cathy does the design work and is helped with the creation of the pieces by her son Colin. Colin also designs and creates his own pieces. Steve Richardson does the majority of the cold work. Cathy sums up her philosophy as follows: Glass, like water, is a very fluid and dynamic medium. It can contain, surround, and magnify objects, creating magical effects to delight the eye and fascinate the imagination. The beautiful three-dimensional environments in my paperweights and marbles express my meticulous attention to detail and life-long love of nature.
