On offer here is a small low-domed antique English paperweight made in the Bacchus glassworks ca. Is a good example of the work – and of the canes – of this highly sought-after glass company which produced only an extremely limited number of paperweights. Encircling the 8-lobed, pink/white flowerhead are small green/white cogs followed by 9 larger canes 3 of which are set in opaque white collars. The basket consists of mainly blue-lined white staves interspersed with translucent blue & aquamarine staves. The corrugated staves meet at a porthole in the base. The base has a polished concavity and wide wear ring. Obviously this weight has been polished and there is now little glass over the top of the canes (see side views), but the weight is in Top condition (no chips, scratches, scuffs or fleabites) Measurements: D: 68mm (2 5/8″); H: 42mm (1 5/8″). The articles I sell are mostly antique or pre-owned. I endeavour to be as accurate as possible in my Condition descriptions, however antique or vintage items will show some signs of age – there may be minor imperfections (bubbles for instance or minor scratches on the base) which are not specifically mentioned in the description. The item “Antique Bacchus Paperweight 2-ring Concentric” is in sale since Sunday, October 23, 2016. This item is in the category “Pottery, Porcelain & Glass\Glass\Paperweights”. The seller is “pw42″ and is located in Derbyshire . This item can be shipped to North, South, or Latin America, to all countries in Europe, to all countries in continental Asia, to Australia.
