Crescent Moon Over The Ocean – Engraved signature by Steven Correia. Deep iridescent blue with metallic moon over ocean waves. This piece is opaque, not a clear see-through glass. He was drawn to sculpture and design. Steven founded Correia Art Glass in 1973, along with a business partner Roger Roland. It was one of the first privately owned art glass studios to spearhead the Art Glass Movement in the early 1970s, creating a new American market for contemporary decorative arts. The company continued to operate under the artistic guidance of Steven Correia until 1987. The studio is located in Santa Monica, California and is currently operated by Steven Correia’s children Algerine Correia and Jeffrey Correia. In 1987 Steven Correia left Correia Art Glass and founded Correia Crystal in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he focuses his attention on creating sculptural objects. He also has an interest in large-scale environmental kinetic light sculpture as well as his audio and visual performance art. For sale out of my personal collection is this absolutely massive One of One Kevin Ogrady marble measuring over 3in in diameter. Absolutely perfect condition with no scratches, stress fractures, chips or cracks of any kind. This marble was made by Kevin in 2010 and has his signature Mille chip with date/signature located in the base of the MIB. This marble features a deep worm hole style vortex composed of countless expertly located flower milles (millefiories). Please message with any additional questions. About the artist: Kevin O’grady is now known best for his beautiful glass bracelets, collectible marbles, and for mastering the art of murrine (pictures in glass) made in the ancient Italian tradition. Kevin has taught and demonstrated his creative techniques at various venues around the United States: GAS (Glass Art Society), ISGB (International Society of Glass Beadmakers), Glass Expo, Corning Museum of Glass, and has taught students from around the world in his private studio.
