This is a very lovely art glass paperweight to add to your collection. Very nice complimentary colors, green and red. Approximately 2.75 inches wide and weighs 433 grams. It has the signature white cane identifying it as Perthshire in the base. P 1996 is in the white cane. Too small to photograph. The number 54 is etched in the base near the cane. I have located it in a L. And it is described as follows. Pink daisy canes are arranged in an unusual cross pattern with striped lace filigree that resembles pink and white candy canes, over a ruby ground and noted as PP174. Perthshire is a small company in Crieff, Scotland that was devoted to the creation of quality glass paperweights. They stopped production in January 2002 after more than 30 years. Beautiful limited-edition Baccarat paperweight. This is part of a series of 18 weights made by Baccarat in the 1970s, each featuring a different animal. The weights pay tribute to their antique predecessors by Baccarat in the 1800s which incorporated similar whimsical animal canes in their design. Often referred to as Gridel weights, this particular set of lovebirds sit on top of an opaque green ground and include several examples of the gridel canes as well as groupings of complex canes. On the base, you will see the Baccarat etched seal, the production year (1976) and its limited edition number (210). This is a great price for this particular piece of art.
