Vintage 1983 Selkirk Glass Paperweight “Bouquet” Peter Holmes 24/150!! PH initials can be seen in bottom of glass!! Selkirk was founded in 1977 by Peter Holmes and Ron Hutchinson. Peter apprenticed under Paul Ysart at Caithness from 1963 and continued at Caithness until 1977. Ron Hutchinson was also at Caithness. Selkirk produced a wide range of paperweight styles including abstract, lampwork and millefiori paperweights. The company was located in Selkirk, Scotland in the Borders Region. Peter Holmes left Selkirk in 2002 to start Scottish Borders Art Glass with his son, Andrew, at Galalaw, Hawick. Comes with Box and. Card as seen in pictures. Rare antique Saint Louis pink aster on a latticinio swirl paperweight. A beautiful aster, with fours tiers of variegated long pink and pointed petals, has a red and white floret at its nexus and sits atop a radically curving, slender stem shared by three ribbed, dark green leaves. Two additional leaves crest the bloom from behind, dark and furled and with a hint of chartreuse at their edges. White double swirl latticinio ground. From the George Kulles Collection. Old English millefiori paperweight : 86 mm / 3 3/8 inch diameter. Walsh Walsh / Arculus -‘propellor’ and’7/6′ canes. Description: Large millefiori paperweight made in the 1920s – 1930s at either the Walsh Walsh or Arculus factory (it is hard to distinguish pieces from these two factories, as Walsh Walsh took over Arculus). Made in heavy lead crystal, it includes a ring of white”7/6′ canes, and red/white 3 lobed’propellor’ canes. As is quite common with pieces from these makers, there are some small bubbles and bits of cullet / dirt in the clear glass, and some of the canes have moved out of place on one side. Typical button base, with noticeable shelf wear on the flat edge. Size : diameter 3 3/8 inch / 86 mm; height 2 1/4 inch / 57 mm. Condition : very good; no chips, bruises, or scratches other than the’shelf wear’ marks on the base. Please remember this is not a brand new item – you may be able to find minuscule marks elsewhere if you search using a magnifying glass. Paul Ysart style Floating Flower & Spoke Glass Paperweight. The paperweight is approximately 3″ wide and 2″ tall, and it features a “C” signature cane which is visible from the bottom side. Condition is perfect with no dings or chips, and the paperweight was recently polished to remove any/all light scratches. I’ve received a private message indicating this paperweight was made by William Manson (Paul’s assistant). The note indicated the “C” cane is actually an “H” cane which stands for “Harland”. Further, the “H” designated Paul Ysart’s studio which (at one time) was located in the old Royal Air Force control tower on Harland Farm. The message concluded with the statement that William Manson produced the “H” paperweights.
