Lundberg Studios Daniel Salazar STERLING ROSE Paperweight Magnum 2003 COA/BOX
Lundberg Studios Daniel Salazar Sterling Rose Magnum Paperweight 2003 with COA and Box. He is well known for his gorgeous floral paperweights, particularly the multi petaled rose. This is an excellent example, and it is Daniel Salazar at his best. The paperweight is comprised of a magnificent and beautifully formed rose, resting above its stem and green leaves. There is one true purple rose in nature, the Sterling Rose, a bit greyish in color, but still considered as close to purple as has been created. Daniel Salazar has made this magnum paperweight in honor of this very unique rose. The photos are not quite as purple as the paperweight, and the tips of the petals do show the Sterling rose’s slightly grey hue. I have been unable to capture the exact color no matter which lighting I used with my camera. Be sure though that the true color of this rose is so much prettier than what my pictures show. The petals are wonderful, with their gradation of color, as the Sterling rose does have. The weight is magnum in size, more than 3 and 1/4 inches in diameter. This is an intricate paperweight, and in beautiful condition, a prize for any Daniel Salazar collector. Daniel Salazar is perhaps my favorite American paperweight maker as his floral designs are exquisite. The base is fully signed, Daniel Salazar Lundberg Studios 2003 111711. His initials can also be found underneath one of the leaves, D S, in white. It is in superb condition! This weight will come with its certificate of authenticity, signed by Daniel Salazar, and its original Lundberg Studios gift box.
