No unwanted surprises here. Not even a marble… And, our amazing art piece is quite complicated to create, on top of that! Was given (was, as in past tense since the offer has now been officially “x-ed” by us; therefore, one has to up the offer, obviously). To cut a long story short. This page has been re-uploaded. But with more pictures and tasty tidbits. If you really want this masterpiece more than likely, THE first created Coral Reef Vortex marble, especially since we have never seen another one like it with this perfect color scheme and 2005! FROM Q & A. First of all, this is 2005 masterpiece. If you were to go through the custom made route, your marble would be 2019… And, that news would shock the marble collecting world. At any rate, this is the only marble of its kind, as far as we know from 2005. His other, more current, coral pieces have ABSOLUTELY dissimilar hue. O’Grady does not recreate a previous color scheme when it comes to his Coral Reef Vortex marble, so we have been told. Yay, but it is only obvious since he is a true artist. Indeed, Kevin is THE first to make murrini in borosilicate. There is no other. You are either first, or you are not. There is only one room for being the first. O’Grady is widely considered as the “father of Vortex” since he is the first to perfect the technique. The Corning Museum of Glass in New York displays his works… If you wish to gawk at his work in person since we completely understand that pictures are never enough. He has created HUGE marbles with combo of fume and vortex and more. Look’em up online and make a list. On the other hand, the piece we have for sale is truly some great reward. This marble is the biggest, and it is the original “Coral Reef Vortex, ” as far as we know. The colors certainly do not look cartoonish. This one-of-a-kind creation clearly reveals Kevin’s master status. NEVER expect this marble to be machine-made perfect with no personality, manufacturing errors, and other hard-to-capture-on-camera anomalies. “Burn-marks” are no stranger to Kevin when it comes to his huge pieces; these are “pin-prick-like” residues (or rough spots) left from the usage of newspaper ash in the assistance of shaping of the molten glass. Other owners (or previous owners) of his over 3.5″ marbles will also tell you about these “pin prick-like residues or anomalies. “Pin prick” equals VERY tiny; our powerful digital camera makes these “pin-prick-like” residues look humongous. “Burst bubbles” are also relatively small. We do not consider “burn-marks, ” “burst bubbles, ” tool marks, and scratches (which were introduced during the creative process) as defects. Again, they are part of the creative process. The marble is, after all, handmade and HUGE. This size is nothing to sneeze at just to rub it in. Not many glass craftsmen can do it. Then again, it is unfair to compare him to a craftsman, for again, Kevin is a real artist. The piece truly belongs in a museum. Signed and dated /. Not 2011, 2018, 2019, blah. Simply ask, and we will upload them. No sweat, and no surprises. Actually, the cost may even be higher if the size of the box is huge… And if you open the package since this example is strictly about refusing a package being handed to you by the UPS carrier. Yes, you got it, this example is about a small box just to send out a wristwatch. Actual color may vary from pictures due to digital camera phenomenon, lighting, your computer settings, and other factors. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. Thank you for stopping by. The “Coral Reef Vortex” marble by artist Kevin O’Grady is the only one that’s being auctioned off. This masterpiece will have a tamper-security sticker with a unique serial number Void If Removed.
